SquirrelSpot

Posting rules

SquirrelSpot is a friendly place for squirrel fans of every age. A few simple rules keep it that way.

  1. Squirrels onlyTree squirrels, flying squirrels, ground squirrels, chipmunks, prairie dogs and marmots all count. Your own photos only, please.
  2. No people or facesKeep the spotlight on the squirrel. Crop out people, especially kids. Hands are fine.
  3. Never bait with junk foodNo chips, bread, candy or cookies. If you feed squirrels at all, see what's safe.
  4. Give babies spaceKeep your distance from nests and baby squirrels. Most babies on the ground still have a mom nearby. Here's what to do if you find one.
  5. Rescue first, post laterIf a squirrel is hurt or sick, help comes first: find who to call near you. We keep the feed for living, healthy squirrels, so photos of hurt or dead animals won't be posted.
  6. Keep your spot generalShare the city, neighborhood or park. Never post your home address.
  7. Be kindFriendly captions only. No ads, links or rude words.

How review works

Every post is checked before it appears in the feed. If two people report a live post, it goes back for another look. Spot something that breaks the rules? Tap the flag on the post.
